How it all began…
Their first date
She was early, waiting for me which was already a good sign, and as I scanned the café looking for her, there she was. She captured my attention because she had the kind of dark, flowing locks you can’t help but notice, and a contagious smile that made me feel like she genuinely cared, a rare quality.
— Cam, right on time!
As he walked through the doors of the café for our first date, our eyes met, and I thought to myself, “Holy moly! There’s no way this is him!” I was flabbergasted and could hardly hold eye contact with the most incredible blue eyes I’d ever come across, or say “Hi, Cam?” without blushing ear-to-ear. He was such a Gentleman to me, and that’s what impressed me the most, initially.
— Natania, ten minutes early
Natania and Cameron, a very traditional duo who don’t believe in coincidences, met online in 2022. They began text messaging, and had their first date a week later. Cam wasn’t wasting any time; on the very first day they started messaging, he was already trying to set a date and time to meet in person. But Natania wasn’t playing games either. Since it was her first online match, she made him wait a week before agreeing to meet, wanting to understand him a little better first. When they finally met, they realized how easy conversation was because it went both ways. They both walked away from that date feeling excited to see each other again, the very next day… if possible.
After more than two years in Rochester, Natania thought she had seen everything Rochester had to offer. But she had no idea she was about to discover the city in an entirely new and real way - through the eyes of the man who would become the love of her life.
As they persevered choosing each other daily, they began to see God’s hand gently guiding their lives and their relationship. Through every high and low, they’ve walked side by side, facing challenges that didn’t pull them apart, but drew them closer to each other and deepened their faith in ways they never expected. Who would have thought that when God created Cam and Natania, that He would raise them over 8,200 miles apart, on different continents, in vastly different cultures and traditions, fully knowing that they would somehow wind up in Rochester, NY, at the same time. Cam had recently returned home after a long time away, serving his country and searching for a job, and Natania had just moved lock, stock, and barrel from India, leaving everything and everyone familiar behind to start from scratch as a foreigner in a new land. They were both longing to meet someone they could connect with on a deeper level, who would love, nuture, and protect their spirits just as tenderly as their hearts. Granted, one of them had to travel a bit more than the other for them to meet. They are kindred spirits in so many ways, sharing the same values, the same dreams, and a rare harmony that makes loving each other feel effortless.
Three and a half years later, they’re ready to say, “I DO!” stepping into this next chapter confident not only in God’s plan for their lives, but also in the quiet strength of knowing they are surrounded by an army of loved ones covering their union in prayer.
